Fraud or Freedom [#libertarianism, #johnlocke, #aynrand, #anarcho-capitalism]
Either we are a nation and people who believe in inalienable rights, the right to life, liberty and property, or we are not. You can't speak of how you believe in peace and yet support the drone strikes of innocent children in Pakistan or the phone tapping of your neighbors. You can't have it both ways and you have to make a choice. And, any compromise is a choice, a choice in the wrong direction. Sorry, but there is a right and a wrong and any choice to take away or limit my freedom is wrong. It's like the choice between food and poison where there really isn't a choice. Either you believe in individual freedom, or you really believe in taking it away from others. There is no middle ground, just rationalizations. Libertarians and anarcho-capitalists don't try to force anyone to do anything other than to leave them alone, but can the same be said for others? At some point in one's intellectual political development, one must make the conscious choice between supporting freedom, or supporting slavery. I choose freedom. Not tolerating the rhetoric of collectivism is not forcing anyone to do anything, it is just exposing the fraud and rot we've become so accustomed to that we don't even see it anymore.
